Science Fair

Welby Community School of the Arts dominated the Mapleton Science Fair last year and we are excited to bring that same level competition to this year's fair!

During the spring semester, students in 3rd-6th grade can participate in the Welby Science Fair where the top projects will advance to the Mapleton Science Fair. Students participating in the fair will complete their projects at home and transport it to the school to be reviewed by our judges. Our Science Fair Coordinator will regularly check in with students to make sure participants are on track to present their project.

The two most important things to qualify for the District fair are to include each element of the scientific process in your project, and for students to be able to speak to/answer questions about their projects.
